Biography Edward Norton was born to parents Edward, an attorney for Historical preservation, and Robin Norton, a former foundation executive, on August 18, 1969 in Boston, Massachusetts. Edward Norton's younger siblings were named James and Molly. Norton flitted through drama schools throughout his life, and eventually managed to secure a job. He found work on stage in New York as in Signature players, who produced the works of playwright and director Edward Albee. At about the time that Edward Norton was working for Albee, a director was casting parts for a new courtroom thriller called Primal Fear(1996). Norton auditioned and won the role over 2000 other actors, some much more experienced. For this performance, Edward Norton won a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a supporting role and an Oscar Nomination for Best Supporting Actor. In 1998, was offered the role of a skinhead in the famous movie, American History X. From his role in the movie, he earned his second Oscar nomination. In 1999, Norton starred in the critically acclaimed movie, Fight Club, and in 2000 directed his first movie, Keeping the Faith. Since then, Edward Norton has starred in many movies including, The People vs. Larry Flynt, Rounders, The Score, Death to Smoochy, Frida, Red Dragon, 25th Hour, The Italian Job, Kingdom of Heaven, Down in the Valley, The Illusionist, and with many others on the way.
